God of ALL Comfort

Praise be to You, the God and Father of our LORD Jesus Christ! You are the Father of compassion and the God of ALL comfort!

LORD, You have been with me through fiery troubles. You comforted me even when I didn't realize You were doing so.  Sweet Jesus, I desire to give another the same comfort You have given me.  Make me a willing giver of comfort!

Thank You, Father of compassion!  Thank You God of ALL comfort!  You have poured out Your gift of unconditional love onto me!  Thank You for walking this life's journey with me and for carrying me most of the way!!

LORD Jesus, we bring before You _______.  Hear our heart's sincere cry out to You for ____.  Comfort _____ in all his/her troubles.  We pray this in Your name, Jesus.  We pray God's will be done in each of our lives and in our church families and in our communities.  Your Kingdom come, Your will be done. Amen

2 Corinthians 1:3-5
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.

Blessed Are Those Who Mourn

Gentle Shepherd. Holy One.  Lord my God. You are my Comforter!

Make me a blessing to someone today. I so desire to say "yes" to You, God.  May my heart be filled with Your love and compassion. Not just filled, but overflowing.

Jesus, thank You for (name someone you are thankful for) because (and why).

Jesus, Loving Lord, we lift ______ to the Father in Your name.  You said, "Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted."  Comfort ____.  No matter the reason for his/her mourning, hold ____ close to You!  Again, may we each be used by You today.  May we be the arms You choose to use to comfort someone.  We pray Your will be done in our lives. Amen

Matthew 5:4  Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted.

God Comforts As a Mother Comforts Her Child

Holy One, as a mother tenderly comforts her child, You comfort me!  When doubt, fear, and worry over take me; Your consolation brings me joy!

Father. Mother. Brother. Sister. There's no relationship status that can fully state who You are to me!  You are supportive of me even when I'm falling apart! Lord, may I make You LORD of  all the situations I find us (me and You, God) in.  You are in control!  Help me remember that!!

Lord, I thank You for all the things You chose NOT to give me!  I thank You for the closed doors. I thank You for the "dead" dreams.  Why? Because I know only You know what You have protected me from!  Thank You for always being in front of me, guiding me.

Jesus. Jesus. Your name is sweet! Your name is power!  It's in Your name we pray for ______. _____ feels like he/she is dwelling in the silence of death.  Reach down with Your unfailing love and support _____ in Your tender, compassionate arms.  Console him/her.  Comfort him/her as a mother comforts her child.  By the power of Your name, we pray God's will be done. Amen

Psalm 94:17-19 (NIV)
17 Unless the Lord had given me help,
    I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death.
18 When I said, “My foot is slipping,
    your unfailing love, Lord, supported me.
19 When anxiety was great within me,
    your consolation brought me joy.

Isaiah 66:13(NIV)
13 As a mother comforts her child,
    so will I comfort you;
    and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.”

My Teacher, My Guide, My Comforter

Lord, my God, You have been with me from the moment I was born, will be with me in the years of gray hair, till the day You call me home.  You are my Teacher and Guide!  Knowing I'm not alone is a comfort to me!

Lord, I think about all we've been through together.  You have taught me so much about You!! I know trials wait for me.  Through each test, may my life declare who You are to those around me and those coming after me.  Empower me through the Holy Spirit to be a life that declares Your power and Your mighty acts, Jesus!

Jesus, I am thankful for (you fill in the blank with what you are THANKFUL for!)!  I will give You thanks with all that I have for You are faithful!

Sweet Lord, we bring ____ to You today.  Though You have allowed ______ to see many, bitter troubles; we pray ____ will trust You to restore his/her life.  From the depths of the earth, bring ____ up again!  May we each rejoice for the work You are doing in ____'s life!  Jesus, we pray this in Your holy name. Amen

Psalm 71:17-22 (NIV)
17 Since my youth, God, you have taught me,
and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.
18 Even when I am old and gray,
do not forsake me, my God,
till I declare your power to the next generation,
your mighty acts to all who are to come.
19 Your righteousness, God, reaches to the heavens,
you who have done great things.
Who is like you, God?
20 Though you have made me see troubles,
many and bitter,
you will restore my life again;
from the depths of the earth
you will again bring me up.
21 You will increase my honor
and comfort me once more.
22 I will praise you with the harp
 for your faithfulness, my God;
I will sing praise to you with the lyre,
Holy One of Israel.

My Shepherd, My Comforter

My Shepherd, You are my Comforter! When I am in the dark valley, You are with me.  You guide me. You protect me. Because You surround me, I do not need to fear! God, You are my Comforter!

Jesus, may Your words guide me. I pray I'll indulge each morsel of Your Scriptures. I pray Your Holy Spirit will teach me to apply each sweet Word to my life!

I thank You, Jesus, for Your Rod and Staff which are Your Word -- the Word of God.  I especially thank You for David and all the  Psalms You inspired him to write!  Each one is a reminder of who You are!  Thank You for this precious treasure!

Sweet Shepherd, even though ______ is in the dark valley, light his/her path.  May _____ feel Your Spirit surrounding him/her and all his/her fear fade away.  May ______ find comfort in Your Word; comfort for his/her heart.  We ask this in Your name, Jesus, according to the Father's will. Amen

Psalm 23:4 (NIV)
Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
